MANATEE EWGA AND YOU

MAN-A-TEE!
Welcome to the Manatee Chapter of the EWGA.  Our chapter has a reputation of having the most Spirit!

We're here to help each other learn more about the game of golf, make new friends and encourage other women to take time out for themselves and participate in a sport they love.  We are women golfers of all levels and we like to get together and have fun.  So contact one of the board members to find out more about Manatee EWGA.

HANDICAPS

WHY OBTAIN USGA HANDICAP INDEX?
Having a handicap index allows golfers to participate in more events, have a measureable means of tracking improvement, and allows score adjustments to even the playing field when playing with golfers of different skill levels.  And best of all, it's free to all EWGA members!

USGA Rules of Golf – Rule for the Week:

HANDICAP TIPS

Adjusting Hole Scores

When playing in an event where you need to report your actual score on a hole(s):

Incomplete Holes or Conceded Strokes - If a player picks up on a hole or is conceded a stroke, record the most likely score that would have been made. This most likely score is the number of strokes (including any penalty strokes) taken thus far played under “The Rules of Golf,” plus the number of strokes needed to complete the hole from that point more than half the time. An “X” should precede the score on the scorecard for this hole score (e.g., X-5).

Holes Not Played - When a hole is not played, or not played under “The Rules of Golf,” the score entered for handicap purposes is par (for the hole) plus any handicap strokes the player is entitled to, based on Course Handicap (see Equitable Stroke Control).
